Mrs. Newman, the daughter of the late Joshua and Mary Catlett Atchley, was born and reared at Catlettsburg, Sevier County, Tennessee. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. J.J. Huffaker, Henry’s Cross Roads; three sons, John and Brownlow Newman of Seven Islands, and B.L. Newman of Knoxville; also 17 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
