  [S4] Knoxville News-Sentinel (Tennessee), 11 Mar 2001. GARNER, NELLE ELLIS - age 99 of Maryville, died Friday March 9, 2001 at Asbury Acres Health Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Maryville, and a long time Sunday school teacher, and active choir member. She also served Blount Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, David Wilson & Martha Emily Brown Ellis; sisters, Cora Norton, Reece Smith, Anna Mae Cleveland, Ida Shepard, Imogene Kyker, and Elizabeth Sharp; ; brothers, Tom and Edward Ellis; husband, George C. Garner; son, M.A. Garner. Survivors include daughter, Louise Garner of Maryville; son and daughter in law, George and Frances Garner of Maryville; daughter in law, Lousie L. Garner of Alcoa; sister in law, Dorothy Ellis of Louisville, Ky.; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and other family members. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. John Sharp officiating. The interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
