HOOD, PAUL E - 55 of Greer, S.C., passed away at his home after a courageous battle with cancer; never giving up, he fought until the end. Born in Knoxville, TN, he was the son of the late Mary Imogene and David Hood. Mr. Hood was of the Baptist faith. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where he received a BS in Metallurgical Engineering with highest honors. His passions were his family, hiking, target shooting, youth baseball and U.T. Vols sports. He is survived by: his loving wife of 32 years, Marlene White Hood; two sons and daughters-in-law, David E. and Holly Hood of Elk Creek, VA, Richard A. and Emily Hood of Weaverville, N.C.; a sister and brother-in-law, Jane Ellen and David Craig of Seymour, TN; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Clifford and Jay White of Texas; Donna and Bill Egner of Idaho, Laura and Mike Thomas of N.C., Vickey Creech, Darlene and Jeff Butcher, Vernon and Keva White, Teresa and Danny Martin, Rena and Rick Creekmore, Melinda and Joseph Kelley, and Mary Lou White, all of Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. Friday, July 20, 2007 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown with a Memorial Service following at 3 p.m. in the Downtown Chapel.
