She was a native of Sevier County. She spent several years working in Oak Ridge before retiring to farm, first in Sevier County and then to the Point Pleasant Community of Cocke County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Reba Helton of Sevierville and brother, Kenneth Wade Helton of Indiana. Survivors: husband, Harold Butler; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Nancy Whaley; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Phillip Randolph; grandchildren, Kristen and Justin Whaley, Alex and Sydney Randolph; brothers and sisters-in-law, Herbert and Shirley Helton, Leroy and Barbara Helton; sister and brother-in-law, Ernestine and Ed Biddle; sister-in-law, Cleo Helton; special relatives, Virgil and Edna Emert, David and Mary Emily Russell, Howard and Phyllis Helton; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 7 p.m. Sunday in the East Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Stansberry and Rev. Bobby Kitts officiating. Interment 11 a.m. Monday in Point Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Point Pleasant Baptist Church, 3330 Point Pleasant Road, Newport, TN 37821.
