  [S142] Newspaper Article, 3 Jan 2001. Mrs. Lavell Arthur, 61, of Crandall, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, at Hamilton Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her father, Hollis Ownby. Survivors include her husband, Billy Arthur of Crandall; son, Jerry Arthur of Crandall; daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Dennis Ball of Crandall, Angie and Mike Blair of Crandall and Julia and Dale Baggett of Chatsworth; mother, Mildred Ownby of Dalton; four grandchildren, Amanda Arthur, Danielle Arthur, Ethan Blair and Shay Rymer; brother, Melvin Ownby of Crandall; sisters, Frances Mason of Crandall, Marie Hefner and Betty Knowles of Dalton, nieces and nephews. Services are Friday at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Crandall with the Rev. Tommy Ridley officiating. Burial will be in Sumach Cumberland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today after 3 p.m. Peeples Funeral Home of Chatsworth is in charge of arrangements.
