God called his soldier, James "Frits" Morton, age 87 of Pigeon Forge, home on Friday, October 18, 2013. Mr. Morton was a member of Glades Lebanon Baptist Church. He was a World War II infantry veteran. He served his country and was wounded on the Siegfried Line on March 17, 1945. He was an avid blue grass fan and his favorite singer was Bill Monroe.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Nell Stinnett Morton, parents Verless and Cora Ownby Morton, daughter Sheila Webber McGill, grandson Mark Webber, brothers Verless (June) Morton, Jr., Bill Morton, Henry Morton, and Gary Morton, sisters Jane Noland, Betty Townsend, and Rosella Ownby, and son-in-law Harold Webber.
