James William "Buddy" Matthews of Sevierville died Friday, June 21, 2002 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center.He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War.He was a member of Riverview Baptist Church, Knoxville, and attended Smoky Mountain Christian Church of Sevierville.He was preceded in death by his sister and a stepson. His parents were Sanford and Edith Matthews.Survivors include his wife, Bobbi J. Matthews of Sevierville; sister, Jan Shrier; nephew, Greg Jacobs of Knoxville; niece, Sonya Bishop of Farragut; stepson, Steven Hohenbrink of Panama City, Fla.; stepdaughter, Tammy Justus and stepgrandchildren, Michael and Samantha Justus of Sevierville.Funeral service was Sunday at Rose Chapel with the Rev. Stevan McClure officiating. Family and friends will meet at Asbury Cemetery 10:45 a.m. Monday for interment at 11 a.m. Memorials may be made to Thompson Cancer Center.
