WYRICK, RUBY MAE COLE - age 90, born near the Sugarland Visitor's Center in the Smoky Mountain National Park on May 11, 1917, passed away at Shannondale Healthcare on February 16, 2008. She was preceded in death by: Husband William Allen (Red) Wyrick; son David Allen Wyrick; foster son Vaughn Cole; Parents: Andrew Russell and Sarah Brackins Cole; brothers: Charlie, Albert, Marshall, Ed, Roy, and Carl; sisters: Flora Beard Smith and Demerius Elmore. Survivors include: granddaughter, Elizabeth Wyrick; great-granddaughters, Sarah Teel and Emily Bonney; former daughter-in-law, Shirley Cummings; sister-in-law, Betty Cook; and friends, William Bonney and Wayne Teel; several nieces and nephews; and special caregivers Christine Dalton and Betty Holt. The family will receive friends on Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 PM at McCarty-Evergreen Funeral Home and then travel in procession to Trentville Cemetery for a 2:00 PM Graveside Service, with Dr. Richard Emmert officiating and music to be lead by Rev. David McGill. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Lyons Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 9235 Strawberry Plains Pike, Knoxville, TN 37871.
