Charles Veston Cogburn, age 96, of Maryville went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 27, 2007. He was of the Church of God faith. He was retired from Alcoa Aluminum Co. in 1969, with 33 years service. He loved to farm and raise beef cattle. Preceded in death by parents, Jim and Caddie Cogburn; stepmother Bertha Valentine Cogburn; wives, Oma Leah Cogburn, Mattie Potter Blair Cogburn; brother, Otis Cogburn; sister, Cora Williams, and half-sister, Sue Ellen Ogle. Survived by sons and their wives, Leroy Cogburn, James and Dot Cogburn of Maryville, Charles, Jr. and Poppy Cogburn of St. Louis, MO. Daughter and husband, Louise and William Sentell of Rockford, grandsons and wives, James Lynn and Karen Cogburn of Knoxville, Tim and Tone Cogburn of Maryville, Chucky Cogburn of St. Louis, MO; granddaughters and husbands, Kathy and J. B. Bach of Louisville, Diana Sentell of Rockford, Tricia and William Cheek of Decatur, TN; 3 great-grandchildren and l great-great-grandchild; half-sister Betty Webb, Seymour, TN. Service will be in the Sherwood Chapel on Sunday at 3:00 with Rev. Tim Kimsey officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30-3:00 prior to the service. Interment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
