He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Josie Fox Byrd; brothers, Blaine Byrd, Calvin Byrd; sisters, Clarsie Layman, Blanche Layman, and Lexie Byrd. He is survived by his wife, Frances Byrd, of Parrottsville; daughters, Janet Jones of Parrottsville; Janice Wright and husband Simon of Johnson City; sister, Agnes Byrd, of Sevierville; grandchildren, Mandy and Rusty Williams, Newport, Sheena and Keith Hartsell, Parrottsville, Caudius and Curtis Flowers, Limestone, TN; great-grandchildren, Ethan Wright, Brooklyn Flowers, Elyssa Williams, Xander Williams, and Dakota Hartsell; special niece, Rita Newman, Sevierville; also several other nieces, nephews, family and friends. Graveside services will be held 11:00 am, Friday, March 6, 2009 in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, with Rev. John Clark and Rev. John Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 am at Resthaven Memorial Gardens prior to the graveside service. In lieu of flowers donations maybe made to Parrottsville, United Methodist Church.
