He was employed by Air-Quest America, Knoxville. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Sevierville., and an Army veteran serving with the 509th Battalion from 1965-1968. He was preceded in death by his parents: Dennis and Mava Helms and father-in-law and mother-in-law: Esco and Maggie Dale. Survivors: Wife: Mary Dale-Helms of Sevierville 2 Children and 5 grandchildren; Tambra Helms and her children Cody and Sean Smith of Sevierville Kevin and Dr. Kimberly Helms and their children Amelia, Alexandra and Addison of Kingsport, TN. Brothers and Sisters-in-law: Hugh and Ruthie Helms of Powell, Steven and Patricia Helms, Lee and Donna Helms, Hal and Patty Helms all of Maynardville Sisters and brothers-in-law: Dewey and Maribeth Helms-England, Johnny and Marlena Helms-Foust, Roger and Pamela Helms-Foust, Tony and Carlie Helms-Summers all of Maynardville Extended family: Gene and Jean Dale-Mitchell of Corryton, Dean Dale-Cole, Jerry and Carolyn-Merritt all of Sevierville Many nieces, nephews, cousins and very special friends Funeral service 1 PM Tuesday at Atchley’s Seymour Chapel with Dr. William Cope and Senior Pastor Randy Davis of First Baptist Church officiating.
