November 24, 1931 - October 3, 2014 Resided in Sevierville, TN James "Jim" Black Cox, age 82 of Sevierville, passed away Friday, October 3, 2014. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Sevierville. Jim was the former owner of Cox and Webb Inc. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Jim loved sports and is a member of the Sevier County High School Athletic Hall of Fame. Jim enjoyed the lake, fishing, boating and teaching anyone willing to learn how to ski. He especially loved the early morning "Coffee Club". He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Black and Stella Davis Cox; and his brother-in-law, J. Pat Reavis. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Nillah Grinstead Cox; daughter, Judy Cox Cheek and husband, Johnny; granddaughter, Jenna Cheek Gilson and husband, Kyle; grandson, Jaime Dale Cheek; sister, Elizabeth Cox Reavis; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Jeanette Grinstead; many beloved nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family members and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Relay For Life of Sevier County, 871 N Weisgarber Road, Knoxville, TN 3790 and the Tennessee Alzheimer's Association, 5801 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919. Funeral Service 6 pm Monday, October 6th, in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Pastor Terrye McAnally officiating. Interment 11 am Tuesday in Eusebia Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 pm Monday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
