He was a member of Henderson’s Chapel Baptist Church and a retired mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren and farming. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Ella Mae Suttles; sister, Della Kay Suttles; father-in-law and mother –in-law, Charlie and Parlie Brackins, brothers-in-law, Ernest McCroskey, and Eugene, Woody, Dee, and David Brackins; sister-in-law Trula Brackins. He survived by his loving and devoted wife, Phyllis Brackins Suttles; daughters and sons-in-law Dena and Jerry Britton, Lisa and Richard (Skip) Radmore; grandchildren Candace Cole Gibson, Andrew Cole, Micah Baker, Eli Baker, Jeremiah Britton, Amy Grace Britton, Brackin Britton; great-grandson Luke Gibson; brothers and spouses Sam and Billie Suttles, Wayne Suttles, Conley and Linda Suttles; sister Blanche McCroskey. sisters-in-law Erma Smelcer, Jo Richardson, Joyce, Cheri, and Alma Brackins. brothers-in-law Donald, Luther and Ted Brackins. Several loving nieces, nephews, neighbors and a host of friends including The Primitive Quartet. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association, 4708 Papermill Drive, Knoxville, TN 37909 or the First Baptist Church of Pigeon Forge Cemetery Fund, PO Box 98, Pigeon Forge, TN 37868. Funeral service 7 PM Monday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Hudson Chesteen and Pastor Tom Compton officiating. Interment 10 AM Tuesday in Pigeon Forge Baptist Cemetery.
