Rev. Clarence Alvin Wilson, age 86, of Sevierville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Sunday, December 11, 2016.
He was a Baptist minister for over 50 years and pastored nine churches in Sevier County. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War.
Rev. Wilson was preceded in death by his wife, Kate Maples Wilson; parents, George and Ruth Wilson; brother, Howard Wilson; sisters, Irene Bailey and Ruby Trentham.
Survivors include his Children: Dwight Wilson and wife Frankie, Doris Phillips and husband Teddy, Doug Wilson and wife Loretta; Theresa Kelly and husband Carl; Grandchildren: Scott (Joey) Phillips, Neal Wilson, Seth (Meloney)Wilson, Christal (Nick) Huff, Brittany (Conley) Rolen, Logan (Krystyn) Kelly, Steve Whaley, Shonda (Randy) Worthington, and David Noland; Great Grandchildren: Dylan and Caleb Phillips, Gracey, Hannah and Bella Wilson, Lenny Huff, Briley Rolen, Bentlee Kelly, Cory and Carly Worthington, Aislyn Whaley; Brothers: Earl Wilson and wife Hazel, Dee Wilson; Sisters: Christine Shults, Sue Ogle, Linda Ray ; Many nieces and nephews; Special Friends: Ben Hibbard, Gene Simpson, Sammy Justus. The family would like to extend a very special "thank you" to the staff at UT Home Health and caregiver Patri Murdock.
The family will receive friends 4:00- 6:45 PM Tuesday with funeral service to follow at 7 PM in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Sammy Justus and Rev. David Wilson officiating. Interment 1 PM Wednesday in Williamsburg Cemetery with Rev. Mike Beck officiating. Rev. Wilson's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post # 104.
