Bobby Lee McFalls, age 81 of Sevierville, a very special public servant went home to Heaven on Sunday, December 6, 2015. Bob was the first firefighter hired by the city of Sevierville. He became a member of the Sevier County Fire Department in 1973 and was the only paid person on duty for many years. He retired in 1993 and became an auxiliary member of SCUFD. He was a mentor to many young firefighters. Bob gave countless hours to the Shriners, American Legion, and Council of the Blind. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 197, Shriners Kerbela Temple in Knoxville, the Scottish Rite, Great Smoky Mountain Shriner Club, West Knox Shriner Club, Granger County Shriner Club, and North Knoxville Shriner Club. Bob served in the Provost Guard of the Kerbela Temple and as Captain of the Smokey Mountain Dune Buggy Unit. Beyond his service to the community, he was a dedicated friend and family man. Bob was a very talented leather craftsman, an excellent cook, and story teller.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Delma McFalls; parents, George Jackson McFalls and Laura Addie Chance McFalls; siblings, Albert McFalls, Helen McFalls, Eugene McFalls, Wanda Newman, Mary George Lindsey, Ben McFalls, Frank McFalls, John D. McFalls, Jack McFalls, and Ronnie McFalls.
Survivors:
Daughters and Sons-in-law: Retta and Gary Pace, Theresa and Richard Breeden;
Grandchildren: Tony Lee Rayfield and wife, Rebecca, Bridget Gibson and husband, Jeff, Amanda Rayfield, Justin Pace and wife, Jessica.
Great-Grandchildren: T.J. Rayfield, Lucas Richard Dale Rayfield, Calista Gibson, Jackson Gibson, Hunter Pace and Jocelyn Pace
Half-Sister: Patsy Rose Atchley
Half-Brothers: David McFalls, Richard Rose, Billy Rose
Numerous nieces and nephews
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to any of the Sevier County Volunteer Fire Departments or American Legion Post 104, P.O. Box 4242, Sevierville, TN 37868.
The family will receive friends 4-6 PM Wednesday with memorial service starting at 6 PM in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville with Rev. Ed Parton officiating.
