Harvey Oakley, age 89 of Gatlinburg, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2007.
Mr. Oakley was an Army Air Corp veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post # 202 for over 50 years. He also served on the Board of the Salvation Army. He was a longtime member of Banner Baptist Church where he was song leader for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents Wiley and Rebecca Ann Ogle Oakley; brothers Reuben Oakley, Elmer Oakley, Orville Oakley, and Charles Oakley; sisters Clara Jane Ford Oakley, Katherine Dodgen and Lucinda Ogle; grandson Joseph Peter Langer.

Daughters and sons-in-law: Barbara and Julio Nieri, Sharon Oakley and Pete Langer, Anita and George Valentine
Grandchildren: Michael Vaughn, Barbarita Nieri, John Nieri and wife Yuka, Alex Langer, Elena Langer, David Ray Valentine
Sisters and brothers: Woodrow Oakley, Martha Rawlings, David Oakley, Wiley Casey Oakley

Celebration of Life service 7 PM Thursday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Ogle and Rev. D.A. Cole officiating. Eulogy by Larry Ogle. Family and friends will meet 10 AM Friday in Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens for interment. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Thursday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
