Charles Lee (Charlie) Allen, 79, of Knoxville, native of Sevier County, son of the late George G. and Lillie Mae Bradley Allen, died Monday June 11, 2007 in Greenwood, S.C. He was a member of Central Baptist Church, Bearden and the Kings Men Sunday School Class. Charlie, who retired from Martin-Marietta, was a veteran of the Korean War and a Member of the American Legion. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Julia Ann (Judy) Allen, and son, George M. Allen.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Gary Goforth; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Sanae Allen; daughter-in-law, Jackie Allen; eight grandchildren; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, Bettie and John Finch, Mary and Ed Scarbrough, Martha and David Whitten, Marjorie and Wiley Rutledge; many family and friends.
Funeral service is 1 p.m. Thursday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel, Dr. Larry Fields officiating. Family and friends will meet at Alder Branch Cemetery, Sevier County for a 4 p.m. graveside and interment service. The family requests memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church, Bearden, 6300 Deane Hill Drive, Knoxville, TN 37919. The family received friends Wednesday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel.

A devoted father and grandfather, he is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Gary Goforth; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Sanae Allen; daughter-in-law, Jackie Allen; grandchildren, Jonathan, Michael, Sarah, Julia, Charles Jared (CJ), Robbie, Alex and Nicholas; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Bettie and John Finch, Mary and Ed Scarbrough, Martha and David Whitten, Marjorie and Wiley Rutledge; and many loving family and friends. A funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel with Dr. Larry Fields officiating.
