He was an active member of Holders Grove Baptist Church, where he was a deacon for 40 years. He served in the Armed Forces during World War II and was stationed in the Philippines and New Guinea. Mr. Williamson was married to the former Maccle Whaley on April 7, 1942 (57 years). He was preceded in death by three sisters, Tincy Evans, Sarah Roberts and Elvie Nimmons; and one brother, Harrison Williamson.
