Maude Whaley, age 89 of Sevierville, passed away at her home on Friday November 8, 2013 surrounded by her children.
She was a member of Big Greenbrier Primitive Baptist Church. She was employed by Sevier County School System as cafeteria manager/supervisor at Pittman Center Elementary School. Ms. Whaley enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, knitting, cooking and visiting with friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Zenith D. Whaley; infant daughter Sarah Elizabeth Whaley; sons Ray and Billy Whaley; granddaughter Tammy Russell; son-in-law Ben King; parents, Decator and Dicie Loveday; brothers, William and Robert Loveday; sister, Josie Ellison.
Maude is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Roy and Brenda Whaley, Sammy and Mary Whaley; daughters and sons-in-law Blanche and Lonnie Hartsell, Carolyn King, Janie and Robert Edwards; eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; several step grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will meet at 10:30 AM Monday at Atchley Funeral Home for procession to Walnut Grove Cemetery for an 11 AM graveside service and interment. Elder Maurice Shults and Elder Reece Maggard will be officiating. The family will receive friends 2-4 PM Sunday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. (www.atchleyfuneralhome.com)
