Tipton, Robert L, age 94, a life-long resident of Seymour, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2007 at Hillcrest North Nursing Home. He was a member of Seymour United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and landed on Normandy Beach six days after the invasion. He was a member of Sevier County Lodge # 334 F& AM for over 50 years and was a Past Master. He is preceded in death by wife, Pauline Sharp Tipton; brothers, Windell, Clarence, and Clay Tipton; sisters Ruby Tipton, Alma Tipton McMahan, and Mary Tipton Carter.
Survivors
Survived by brother Eugene Tipton of Owosso, Michigan; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Service
Family and friends will meet at Greenwood Cemetery at 11:00 AM Wednesday for graveside services, Rev. Charles Burnette officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice in his memory. Family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Berry Funeral Home Chapman Highway.
