Gladys P. Turner, age 89, of Del Rio, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family and friends. She was a member of Sand Hill Church of God in Jesus Name, Pastor Tommy Ball. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Frank Turner of 67 years; parents, Noah and Kate Pack; sister and brother-in-law, Jewelene and Arnold Ball; brother, Frank Pack; and step-mother, Altha Pack; and sister-in-law, Irola Pack. She is survived by her son, Roger (June) Turner; daughters, Sandra (Max) Phillips, Rita (John) Self, Mona (Buck) Schaffner and a very special member of the family, Lonnie Sane; grandchildren, Tim (Vickie) Turner, Tabatha (Rick) Messer, Shawn Necessary, Joe (Heather) Self, Jordan (Susie) Self, Craig (Emily) Phillips, Barry Phillips, Rachel (Wes) Callison, Joni (Brad) Hicks, Shawn Schaffner, and Katie Schaffner; seventeen great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Jack Pack, J.C. (Peggy) Pack, and Everette (Irene) Pack; sister-in-law, Clarene Pack; and several nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends. The family would like to say a special “Thank you” to Smoky Mountain Home Health & Hospice, Jeff Grigsby and caregivers, Brooke Turner Ramsey, Rachel Nease Worley and Mary Turner. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Manes Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Sand Hill Church of God in Jesus Name with , Pastor Tommy Ball and Chaplain Colonel Eddie Young, MCC officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Tim Turner, Joe Self, Jordie Self, Eric Turner, Shane Messer and Craig Phillips; honorary pallbearers will be Cody Turner, Barry Phillips, Shawn Necessary and Shawn Schaffner.
