Susie Paine Waters Davis, age 57, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. She was a graduate of Sevier County High School and also attended the University of Tennessee. Mrs. Davis was a graduate of the Gemological Institute of America in Carlsbad, CA. She was a member of the National Association of Clock and Watch Collectors, American Watch and Clock Institute, British Horological Society, and the American Society of Appraisers.
Among other landmarks in her career, she was the Director of Fine Dining at the Martha Washington Inn in Abingdon, Virginia as well as being a partner at the popular downtown Knoxville restaurant, Phoebe’s. Forced to leave the restaurant business due to increasingly poor health, Susie started a second career at Jewelry Television, becoming a Senior Resolutions Specialist with special skills in watches and gemological tools.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents, David Paine Waters Sr. and Ina Ellen Waters.
Her survivors include her husband, Walter Davis; brother, David Paine Waters II and his wife Tammy; sister, LouAnn Waters Dykhouse and her husband Garry of Phoenix, AZ; nephews, Slade Dykhouse, Garret Dykhouse and his fiancée Ashley Bishop.
The family would like to thank her doctors and nurses, not only for giving her comfort and care at the end, but also for helping her to live an extra ten years, good years that she would not have had otherwise.
