MORRIS, KENNETH CALVIN - age 93, of Knoxville, formerly of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at Shannondale Health Care Center in Knoxville. He was born July 7, 1909, in Eaton, Indiana, the second son of Henry Calvin and Beryl Weaver Morris. He married Anna Wade Morris, his wife of 59 years, on June 21, 1936, and they had one daughter, Mary Ann. In 1941, he opened Morris & Horner Ford Sales of Clinton with partner Hal Horner. In 1956 Horner sold to David Bolling and the dealership became Morris-Bolling Ford Sales until Ken retired in 1974. He was a member of Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, S.J., USA, and of Grand Lodge & Accepted Masons in Tennessee for over 50 years. He belonged to the Clinton First Baptist Church and the Clinton Civitan Club. Ken was also an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener and loving friend to all who knew him. Preceded in death by wife, Ann Morris, and older brother, Philip C. Morris. Survivors: daughter, Mary Ann Morris Thompson of Plano, Texas grandson, Sean Thompson of Austin, Texas granddaughter, Kelly Morris Thompson and husband, Michael Ringham of College Station, Texas great-grandson, Kenneth M. Ringham of College Station, Texas. The family will receive friends 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 Noon, Thursday, April 3, 2003, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with funeral service following at 12:00 Noon in the chapel with Rev. Sam Dean and Dr. Paul Frick officiating. Interment will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday at New Gray Cemetery in Knoxville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clinton First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 268, Clinton, TN, 37717, or to the charity of your choice. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home, of Clinton, in charge of all arrangements.
