Jamie H. Burkett age 48 of Gatlinburg, went to be with her heavenly father on April 3, 2007 to serve as one of God’s mischievous angels. Jamie was a former co-owner of Ma’s Kitchen in the Glades Community of Gatlinburg.
Preceding her in death were both sets of grand parents: Mr. & Mrs. Tom Hutton of Clinton, and Mr. & Mrs. Clifford Atchley of Sevierville; father and mother in law Verless & Viola Burkett of Gatlinburg; infant daughter: Donna Sue Burkett and a loving stepfather: Shirly John Carver.
Survivors include her loving and devoted husband John Russell Burkett; daughters: Joni Burkett Click and husband Sam, Patricia Haynes and husband Barry; brothers: Tom Atchley, Rob Atchley, Jerry Carver, Larry Carver; Sisters: Caroline Brown, Donna Wilson, Sue McCarter; mother: Janice Hutton Musick-Carver; Father: Thomas Harold Atchley.
Jamie is loved by numerous brothers & sisters in laws and also many nieces and nephews.
Jamie was a life long Sunday School teacher at her church, Oldham’s Creek Baptist Church in the Boogertown Community where she loved all the children in her classes. She was a loving mother to many.
In lieu of flowers Jamie requested that donations be made to the family to help with the enormous medical bills created by her lingering illness.
A memorial Service will be held 1:00 PM Friday April 6, 2007 at Oldham’s Creek Baptist Church with the Reverend Mike Beck officiating. Jamie will be missed by many.
