Glen H. Pendley October 1, 1924- February 23, 2006 COLUMBUS, GA— SFC (Ret) Glen H. Pendley, 81, of Columbus, GA died at The Medical Center of Columbus, GA Thursday, February 23, 2006. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, February 28, 2006 in the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Macon Road Chapel with Reverend Mike Benson officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00PM at the funeral home. SFC (Ret.) Pendley was born October 1, 1924 in Hanna, OK son of the late Martin S. Pendley Sr. and Mary Kidwell Pendley. He retired from the U. S. Army after 21 years of service. During his military career he honorably served in WWII and in the Korea Conflict, receiving the Purple Heart. He was a member of the DAV Chapter # 7. Mr. Pendley enjoyed working in his yard, sports and his grandchildren. SFC (Ret.) Pendley was preceded in death by his siblings, Martin S. Pendley Jr., Treola Taylor, Lorene Burleson, Estelle Smith and Jacob C. Pendley. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mary R. Pendley of Columbus, GA; a daughter, Shari S. Littleton of Phenix City, AL; two brothers, Merle D. Pendley and his wife, Jo Anne, Herbert L. Pendley and his wife, Lula Mae, all of TX; a sister, Doris Ingle and her husband, Mike of Sacramento, CA; grandchildren, Stephen P. Starley and his wife, Melissa of Columbus, GA, Timothy A. Starley and his wife, Angel of Phenix City, AL, Amy Nicole Giner-Medus and her husband, Mike of Tampa, FL, Daniel T. Littleton of Phenix City, AL; ten great-grand-children.
