July 19, 1934 - September 17, 2015 Resided in Sevierville, TN Stella Hodges Manning, age 81, of Sevierville, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2015. Stella was born July 19, 1934 and grew up in the Boyd's Creek community of Sevier County. She was retired from Manning Tractor where she worked tirelessly with her family. She was a member of Jones Chapel Baptist Church where she served as pianist for several years. Stella was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Gene Manning; parents, James Otha and Mary Alice Odom Hodges; brothers, Fred, Roy, Ira and Hugh Hodges; and sisters, Dorothy Galyon, Ruth McDonald and Pauline Peek. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Lynn McMahan; grandchildren, Mitchell and Telena McMahan, Matthew McMahan and Rebecca McMahan; sister, Jean Barnes of Mt. Juliet, TN; and nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Erica Manning Music Scholarship Fund , c/o SCHS Foundation, P.O. Box 4124, Sevierville, TN 37864. The family will receive friends 5:30-7 PM Sunday with funeral service to follow at 7 PM in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home. Rev. Danny Manning, Jr. will officiate.
