Shults Leslie Layman, 91, passed away Friday morning at his home following a short illness.
He was a member of the Holder?s Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Velma Baxter Layman, of Cosby; children, Floyd Layman and his wife, Lonie, of Asheville. North Carolina, Leslie Layman and his wife, Linda, of Trenton, South Carolina, Chris Layman and his wife, Norma and Jeff Layman, all of Cosby; sister, Hattie Wilson, of Cosby; grandchildren, James David Layman, of Pigeon Forge, Michael Layman, Jaylane Moore, and Jennifer Watson, all of Cosby, Brenda Styles and Patricia Layman Williams, both of Newport, Jennifer Buckner, of Cosby, and Teresa Estep, of Rutledge; and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his children, James Daved Layman, Fred Layman, and Freeda Smith.
The funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Brown Funeral Chapel with Rev. Andy Ball and Rev. Cleo Williamson officiating. Interment 10 a.m. Monday at the Waters-Large Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening at the Brown Funeral Home.
