Lela Caughron, 88, went home suddenly June 2, to be with the Lord.
She was born in Sevier County, Tenn., and had lived in Lakemore for 60 years. Mrs. Caughron retired in 1965 from the Edwin Shaw Sanitorium Laundry Department after 35 years service. She was a longtime member of Lakemore United Methodist Church and its Pioneer Class, with more than 50 years of perfect attendance.
Preceded in death in 1969 by husband, William C., she is survived by sons, James D., John E. and Robert E., all of the Akron area, William C. Jr. of Lakemore; daughters, M. Edith Donahue and Mildred H. Williams, both of Akron; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Frank Denton of Knoxville, Tenn.; sisters, Nina Leatherwood, Hazel DeLozier and Lucille Howard, all of Sevierville, Tenn.
Funeral services Tuesday, 1:30 p.m., at the Lakemore United Methodist Church, 1536 Flickinger Rd., Rev. Rondal P. Hardman and Rev. Lloyd Walker officiating. Burial at Hillside Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd., Akron, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday; and one hour prior to service time T Tuesday, at the church.
