Robert Allison "Bob" Roberts, age 89 of Gatlinburg entered into the Lord's rest Friday, January 4, 2013 at Sevier County Health Care Center. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Gatlinburg. Bob grew up in Pitcairn, PA but had lived in Gatlinburg for 37 years. He worked as a manager at the Eat 'N Park restaurant in Pittsburgh, PA for 20 years. He was affectionately called "Uncle Bob" by many people in the community during his early years in Cosby, TN, where he managed Kamp Rite Campground.
A loyal fan of all sports, he especially loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Tennessee Volunteers. Bob enjoyed traveling and was a talented photographer with expertise in capturing the flowers and beauty of the Smoky Mountains.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a radio man on an ocean going tug.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Chester C. Roberts and Viola Bethune Roberts of Pitcairn, PA; daughter, Janet Lee Roberts; siblings, Calvin Roberts of San Diego, CA, Audrey Roberts (Lloyd) Henry of Hemet, CA and Bernice Roberts (Thomas) Walston of San Diego, CA, sisters-in-law, Patricia Roberts, Catherine Roberts; brother-in-law, Alan Dickson
