Helton, 75, of Pigeon Forge, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2002 at his home. Mr. Helton was a member of Walden’s Creek United Methodist Church. Buford was preceded in death by his parents, M.T. Helton, Sr. and Pearl Houk Helton; brothers, Ray, M.T and Rex; sister, Mary Louise. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Bobbie Kyte Helton; son, Mike Helton and wife Patti, daughters, Dianne Justus and husband Frank, Tammy Swicegood; grandchildren, Daniel Kyte and wife Misti, Eric Justus and wife Aleshia, Isaac Justus, Summer Justus, Whit Helton, Hannah Helton, Brandon Swicegood; great granddaughter, Makayla Justus; brother, Wayne Helton and wife Barbara; sister, Janice Tarwater; sisters-in-law, Mildred Kyte, Christine Kyte, Doris Helton and Beulah Helton. Besides the immediate family, Buford will be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, special friend Mary Nell Barnard and many others that he has touched during his life. Service will be 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 1 at Rawlings Funeral Chapel. Interment will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 2 at Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 1 at Rawlings Funeral Home.
