Lewis Ray Lynn, of Knoxville, Tenn., born April 22, 1924, passed away April 21, 2009.
Preceding Ray in death were his wife, Carolyn Murphy; parents, Bruce and Mae Houk Lynn; sisters, Bonnie Kate Paulin and Ruby Louise Kastman; nephew, Paul Edward Kastman.
He is survived by his son, Timothy Lynn; daughters, Linda Muntz and Sheila Rogers and husband Jeff; grandsons, Bobby Muntz and wife Marie and their daughter, Brittany, Bruce Turner and granddaughter, Katie Turner, all of Knoxville; brother, Wendell Lynn and wife, Patricia; sister, Jean Lynn Huff and husband, Herman; niece, Brenda Testerman and husband, Bryan.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in Germany and Austria.
He was a member of Fountain City Presbyterian Church where services will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. at the Church prior to services.
Interment will be 11 a.m. Friday in Greenwood Cemetery.

LYNN, LEWIS RAY - of Knoxville, born April 22,1924 in Sevier County, TN, passed away April 21, 2009. He was a veteran of WW II, serving in Germany and Austria. Retired after years with the White Stores and volunteered for several years with Habitat for Humanity. Preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Mae (Houk) Lynn; two sisters, Bonnie Kate Paulin and Ruby Louise Kastman; one nephew, Paul Kastman and his loving wife of 33 years, Mary Carolyn (Murphy) Lynn. He is survived by his son, Timothy Lynn and daughters, Linda Muntz of Knoxville, Sheila Rogers (husband) Jeff of Maynardville; grandchildren, Bobby Muntz (wife) Marie (daughter) Ashley, Jeffery (Bruce) Turner, Katherine (Katie) Turner; brother, Wendell and (wife) Patricia; sister, Jean and (husband) Herman Huff; sister-in-law Frances (husband) Mack Rose and Shelba Murphy; several nieces and nephews and step-grandchildren. Special thanks to Amedisys Hospice and his special caregiver, Becky Gordon and husband Kenny. Funeral service will be at 7 pm Thursday at Fountain City Presbyterian Church with Rev. Sean White presiding. Memorials may be made to the Church or Habitat for Humanity. Family and friends are asked to meet at Gentry-Griffey Chapel by 10:15 am Friday to go in procession to Greenwood Cemetery for an 11 am interment. Family will receive friends Thursday from 5-7 pm at Fountain City Presbyterian Church. Arrangements by Gentry-Griffey-Chapel.
