CSA, Company E, 12th Georgia Cavalry David Lewis Trundle was born in Blount County Tennessee.He was the son of James and Eleanor(Burns) Trundle.He was married Mary Jane Thompson and they were the parents of Rachel Tennessee Trundle Robert Thompson Trundle James Wilson Trundle Annie Eliza Trundle Louisa Gardner Trundle Sarah Frances Trundle David Allison Trundle William Henderson Trundle. When he first came to Georgia he lived in Catoosa County, at the foot of Taylor's ridge,at the Ford of the Middle Chickamauga Creek. When the Civil War began he was living in Walker County Georgia and joined the 4th Georgia Cavalry.He was captured December 3 1863 near Knoxville Tennessee by Union Forces and became a POW, sent to Rock Island Illinois, a Federal prison, and died of smallpox on the 23rd of June,1864,he is buried in grave #252 south of the prison barracks.
