Hazel Alene Stewart Owenby, age 84, of Maryville passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at Asbury Place at Maryville. She was born in Cherokee County, NC on October 26, 1919. She was preceded in death by her husband, Western T. Owenby; grandson, Darrell L. Hill; parents, Julis Richard and Susan Ida Crowder Stewart; and brothers, Arvil and Clyde Stewart. She is survived by her daughters, Eula Mae Helton and Mary Lee Farmer; son, Harold Owenby; grandchildren, Randy and Loretta McKenzie, Kenny McKenzie, Denise Fults and husband Kent, David Hill and wife Darlene; great-grandchildren, Amanda Stamps, Miranda Reagan, and Rachel Hill; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 9, 2004 at Miller Funeral Home Chapel. Interment service will follow at Clarks Grove Cemetery.
