Gertrude Gann Ward, age 85 of Sevierville, died Friday, May 13, 2005. Gertrude lived to have five generations and was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was retired from Cherokee Textile Mills. She attended New Hope Church of God and loved the T.V. Ministry of First Baptist Church in Sevierville. She was preceded in death by her father and mother D.C. and Lydia (Widner) Gann, sisters Emily Gann, Rosabelle Turner, Edith Connatser, a half sister Maggie Loveday, a half brother Pete Gann, husband Willie Bates Ward and daughter Betty Atchley Ballew, sons-in-law, Bud Atchley, Kenneth Ballew, Sr., special friend and neighbor Charles E. Hodges

Funeral service 5 PM Sunday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Pastor Melvin Lonas and great-grandson Rev. Josh Lindsey officiating. Eulogy delivered by granddaughter Cindy Lindsey. Interment 10 AM Monday in Middle Creek Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be: Ricky B., Mike and Michael Atchley, Arley Johnson, Jr., Dennis and Josh Lindsey, Jason Jennings, and Houston Hodges.
