Addie Canupp Dixon-age 102, of Seymour, born December 15, 1908, went to be with her Heavenly Father, February 18, 2011 at home surrounded by her family after a long term illness. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church and former member of Bethel Baptist Church of Sevier County. Addie was a member of The Spencer Clack Chapter TSDAR and Sam Houston Historical Association. She was an avid quilter since the age of 8 years old and enjoyed crocheting, various needle work. Preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Walter E. Dixon; son Bill Dixon, daughter Juanita Dixon; grandson Dwight Amos Dixon; great grandson Austin England; son-in-law Hugh K Patton. Addie is survived by 5 daughters and 1 son: Irene (Bascom) Fox of Pigeon Forge, Doris (John T) Horton of Nashville, Reva Patton of Chattanooga, Merita (Charles) England of Maryville, son Dwight (Evelyn) Dixon of Knoxville, daughter Alla (Joe) Rassega of Knoxville Nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and eight great great grandchildren. Visitation services will be Tuesday, February 22, 2011 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Highland South Memorial Park Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Earl Lane and Rev. Tim Dixon officiating. Interment services will be Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Sevier County. Guestbook may be signed at www.highlandmemorialparks.com.
