Caton, Nora Rainwater, age 99, of Seymour, TN passed away Sunday, March 14, 2004, following a lengthy illness. She was a member of First Baptist Church Seymour and former longtime member of South Knoxville Baptist Church. She was the co-owner of Caton’s Grocery Store on Middlebrook Pike in Knoxville for 41 years with her husband, John B. Caton, who predeceased her. Mrs. Caton was a retired lighting director for the Krannert Center for Performing Arts on the campus of the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana.
Survivors
Survived by daughter, Betty Jean Helton; sons, Ray Caton, Paul Caton and wife, Elsie; 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; sister, Lucy Rainwater of Dandridge; brothers, Clyde and Glenn Rainwater of Knoxville; special sister-in-law, Beulah Goan and husband, Charles.
Service
The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 18, 2004 at Berry Funeral Home Chapel, services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Dr. G. Michael O’Neal officiating. Family and friends will meet at Highland Memorial Cemetery for graveside service, 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 19, 2004. Arrangements by Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.www.berryfuneralhome.com
