Christine Parton Rickman, age 77 of Sevierville, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2006, following a valiant battle with cancer. Christine professed faith in the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age. She often told others about Jesus, and her strong faith was evident to those who knew her.
Christine’s ancestors were settlers of the Greenbriar Community in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. She was a beloved mother and grandmother, always encouraging her family along life’s way.
She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Bessie Rayfield Parton; brothers Robert Lee Parton and wife Avalee, Winfred Parton, Earl Parton and wife Ora, Oscar Parton and wife Frankie, Rev. Orville S. Parton and wife Bessie; sisters Margie Parton, Hazel Whaley and husband Dave.

Grandchildren: Jason Huskey and wife Melissa, Courtney Tucker, Jenny Keener Vaughn and husband Travis

The family would like to thank the staff of Pigeon Forge Care and Rehabilitation Center, Alice Shook, FNP, and Dr. Samuel McGaha for the loving care they provided for Christine during her illness. Also to Dr. Charles Kidd, her friend and physician, Dr. Steve Smith, Sevier County Ambulance Service and Atchley Funeral Home personnel.
Funeral service 7 PM Tuesday in Atchley’s Smoky Mountain Chapel in Pigeon forge with Rev. Jack Edward Parton officiating. Entombment will be in the Chapel Mausoleum of Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Tuesday at Atchley’s Smoky Mountain Chapel, 220 Emert Street, Pigeon Forge, TN. (www.atchleyfuneralhome.com)
