Stella Mae Trundle, age 98 of Sevierville, passed away peacefully at Ft. Sanders Sevier Nursing Home on Tuesday, January 28, 2014.
She was a member of Rocky Springs Presbyterian Church in Boyd's Creek where she served as Elder and Clerk of Session for many years. She retired from H.U.D. after many years of service.
Mrs. Trundle was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Mattie (Dickie) Trundle; brothers and sisters-in-law, Benton and Kathleen (Hammer) Trundle, Raymond and Clara (Brakebill) Trundle; sisters and brothers-in-law, Anna Kate and Jerry Ellis, Nellie and Paul Hammer, Lena and Lee Catlett; nephew, James Hammer.
Survivors include her nieces and nephews: Don and Mary Emma Brugh Lee of N. Ft. Myers, FL, Paul and Margaret Ellis of Sevierville, Sammy and Jean Hammer of Dandridge, Benton and Edna Hammer of Dandridge, Francis and Mary Sue Hammer of Kodak, Benton and Margaret Trundle of Sevierville, Jean Hammer of Dandridge; several great-nephews and great-nieces.
Special thanks to Dr. Samuel McGaha and the staff of Fort Sanders Sevier Nursing Home for their kindness and loving care they have provided to Stella for many years.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Rocky Springs Presbyterian Church, c/o Pam Tarwater, 3144 Boyds Creek Highway, Sevierville, TN 37876.
The family will receive friends 1-2 PM Friday with funeral service to follow at 2 PM in the chapel of Atchley Funeral Home. Rev. Don Grady and Rev. Eugene Thomas will officiate.
