Stella Mae Lindsey Valentine, age 98 of Erwin, Tennessee (formerly of Sevier County), passed away Thursday, July 3, 2014. Mae's life was spent loving and caring for her family and serving her church. Mae enjoyed reading her Bible, quilting and doing word puzzles.
Mae was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Sanberry Valentine; daughter, Marie Nicely; sons, Garrel, Ernest, Sam and JR; grandsons, Jack Valentine and Randy Nicely; parents, Bart and Addie Lindsey; sons-in-law, LeeRoy Manning, Cliff Hutchison and L.C. Nicely; sister, Edna Valentine; brothers, Robert, Wade, Brownie and Paul Lindsey.
Survivors include her children, Becky Manning, Avie Hutchison, Lloyd Valentine (Rachel), Von Smith (Mike), Verna Russell (Walt), David Valentine, Roxanna Williams (Dennis); daughter-in-law, Peggy Valentine; grandchildren, Mike Valentine, Janet Balentine, Becky Valentine, Tammy Valentine, Michael Valentine, Debbie Merritt, Sharon Manning, Doug Manning, Andi McEntire, Scott Hutchison, Maria Edwards, Will Smith, Amy Mabe, Cliff Russell, Sandy Luciano, Heath Valentine, Laura Valentine, Emma Kelly, Katie Williams; 38 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Bohanan; brother, Frank Lindsey; many special nieces and nephews and extended family members.
In lieu of spending money on flowers, Mae asked that you spend the money to feed a hungry child.
The family will receive friends 2-4 PM Sunday with funeral service to follow at 4 PM in the Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Ben Whitted officiating. Interment 10 AM Monday in Cummings Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements by Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. (www.atchleyfuneralhome.com)
