Cureton, age 89, of Cosby passed away Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital. M.L. was a veteran of the United States Army and served during WWII and received a purple heart. He was a member of the Cosby Missionary Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his son Terry Lynn Cureton, parents, Marion Lloyd and Eva Cureton, brothers, Clifford, James and Ceryl Cureton, sisters, Lula Shults, Ida Lee Proffitt, Lillian Giles. He is survived by his wife Arlene Cureton of Cosby, sister, Susan Large of Cosby, sister in laws, Grace Mathis, Betty Jenkins and Mable Cureton, all of Cosby special friends, Donald Mathis and Judy Pound, several nieces and nephews and a host of other special family and friends. Funeral service will be 8:00 pm Sunday, June 26, 2011 at the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Cleo Williamson and Rev. Kris Brady officiating. Interment will be 10:00 am Monday, June 27, 2011 at Waters Large Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 Sunday prior to the funeral.
