Notes |
- In 1939 Bud worked as a mechanic in Detroit, Michigan for a pinball company. Here he met his future wife Leola Schram.
In 1940 they moved to Cleveland, Ohio where Bud started his own business in game machines. However, Cleveland outlawed pinball machines, so Bud packed it in and moved his operation to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1941.
In 1942 Bud married Leola Schram in Las Vegas, Nevada, and they moved to California. Both of them worked for Paramont Pictures for the next three years, Bud as an electrician, and Leola as a waitress at the Hollywood Commissary. He also worked as an electrician on a military ship, which meant he was in essential services, and not draft elegible.
In 1946 they moved to Portland, Oregon, working for a furniture store, and an agriculture company as a salesman.
In 1956, Bud started a sandwich business in Seattle which continued until 1963, when he and Leola separated.
