SLOAN, JUANITA KING - age 74, of Farragut, died Thursday, July 12, 2001. She was a member of Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Sloan was also a faithful staff member, retired Secretary, and Director of Senior Adult Ministries for Erin Presbyterian Church. She was active in the Gateway Garden Club, participating in many flower shows where she won several awards. Preceded in death by husband, William Anderson Sloan, Jr.; sister, Irene King Gambill, and infant brother, Herbert King.
Survivors: daughter, Ginger Sloan Billingsley and husband, Craig Billingsley of Knoxville; sons, William Anderson Sloan, III and wife, Renee Love Sloan of Roanoke, Va., and James Michael Sloan of Knoxville; grandchildren, Erin and Ashley Billingsley of Knoxville, Joe and Crystal Kitts of Roanoke, Va.; brothers, Lewis Hansel King, Jr. and wife, Doris, James Daniel King and wife, Imogene, Larry Wayne King and wife, Dorothy, all of Knoxville; sisters, Emily Owens and Helen Barringer, both of Knoxville, Imogene Foster of Cincinnati, Ohio, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Funeral service 3 p.m. Saturday, July 14, at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Senior Adult Ministries at Erin Presbyterian Church, 200 Lockett Road, Knoxville, TN 37919, or the Knoxville Garden Club. The family will receive friends 1:30-3 p.m. Saturday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel.
