Services for Mrs. Wanner, DuPage GOP Chairwoman

SERVICES FOR Mrs. Lucinda Wanner, 76, chairman of the women's division of the Du Page County Republican Organization, will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Pilgrim Congregational Church, Glen Ellyn.
Mrs. Wanner died Friday night in her home at 279 Merton Av., Glen Ellyn.
A member of the women's Republican organization on the local, state, and national levels, she was a delegate to the Republican national conventions from 1964 through 1972. Mrs. Wanner also served on the board of the United Republican Fund and was state vice chairman of the Illinois Republican State Central Committee.
A PUBLIC speaker on political subjects, she published several pamphlets for first-time voters, new residents, and newly naturalized citizens, as well as information kits for precinct workers.
On learning of her death, James [Pate] Philip, chairman of the Du Page County Republican Central Committee, said, "We pay tribute to an outstanding Republican woman who, for over 30 years, has devoted her untiring efforts toward the better understanding of Republican principles in government."
Surviving are a son, Richard; a daughter, Mrs. Lucinda Kasperson; two brothers; and four grandchildren. She was the widow of Arthur L. Wanner, former vice president and treasurer of Belden Manufacturing Co., former chairman of the board of the Dearborn Glass Co., and director of several other corporations. He died in 1964.
