• Notes

  Gudger received his education in the Haywood County, North Carolina school system and graduated from Canton High School. He served in the Army during World War II in the 61st Machine Records Unit in Australia and the Philippines. After the war, Gudger returned to Canton, North Carolina and became employed by Champion Papers and was Supervisor of Data Processing at the time of his death from cancer.
