Katherine "Kay" Stinnett Moore, 74, of Culpeper, passed away Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004, at Culpeper Regional Hospital.
Kay was born to George Mack Stinnett and Maudie Bessie Craig in Black Mountain, N.C., on Jan. 27, 1930. Mrs. Moore was a member of Culpeper Baptist Church and the Order of The Eastern Star. She worked as a secretary at Culpeper Farmer's Co-op and retired from Culpeper Baptist Retirement Community.
Kay is survived by her husband of 56 years, Gerald "Jerry" of Culpeper; her sons Gerald Moore Jr. of Lake Caroline, Va., and James Moore of Gordonsville, Va.; her sisters, Gerri Miles Hartwell of Richmond, Va., and Betty Moore of Chesterfield, Va.; grandchildren, Adam Moore, Travis Moore, Katherine Moore and Dawn Dodson; and a great-grandchild, Kira. Her parents and her brother, George Mack Stinnett Jr., preceded her in death.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 30 at Culpeper Baptist Church with Dr. Ted Fuson and the Rev. John S. Farrar conducting the service. Interment will be in Culpeper Masonic Cemetery with the Order of the Eastern Star Rites. Pallbearers are William "Red" Jenkins, Ray Garr, Ted Gore, Jim Rowland, Donnie Miles, Robert Aylor, Walt Thomas and Curtis Brooking.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 29 at Clore-English Funeral Home, 11190 James Monroe Highway, Culpeper, VA 22701.
