BORN: September 26, 1922 DIED: January 6, 2009 LOCATION: Knoxville, TN Ila Viola Adams - wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend, of South Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at the age of 86. A member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church and retired from the telephone company. Preceded in death by: parents San and Bertha Howard; sisters Esther, Lola and Edith; and the love of her life N.J. (Ace) Adams, Jr. (together again). Survivors include her children: Steven and Norman Adams; her grandchildren, who affectionately referred to her as "Nanny" and Nana": Angie Adams, Brandi Dosdell and husband Matt, San Adams and wife Kelly, Steven Adams, Jr. and wife Ginger, Niki, Kacie and Kelli Adams; 10 great-grandchildren, Madison, Marina, Nathan, Hope, Keenan, Sierra, Marisa, Meleah, Deana and Dominic; daughters-in-law, Kathy and Ginger Adams; special friend Trish Long. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 9, 2009 at Highland South Funeral Home from 6:00 -8:00 p.m., with a service to follow at 8:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Highland South Cemetery.
