Bruce Luster Williams, 85, passed away Saturday afternoon, October 3, at his residence in Newport following a lengthy illness.
Luster was a charter member of the English Creek Baptist Church.
He was a veteran of World War II.
Luster was a retired carpenter.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Jim Berry and Martha Ann (Rolen) Williams; sisters, Laura Shepherd, Lena Sisk and Ora Huff; and brothers, Jim and Bill Williams.
Survivors include his wife, Nell Baxter Williams; son, Tip Williams; grandson, David, and his wife, Lori Williams, all of Newport; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the English Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Smith and Rev. M.L. White officiating. Luster will lie in state from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
The family received friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday evening at the Brown Funeral Home.
