Mary Evelyn Watson Atchley, age 90, of Knoxville went to be with her Lord Thursday evening, May 3, 2012 at Parkwest Medical Center. Evelyn was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church and former member of Beaver Ridge United Methodist Church. She was a precious and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Evelyn’s greatest joy was spending time with her family who were blessed by the legacy of her Christian influence and gentle nature.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn A. Atchley and siblings, Ann Lethco, Zelma Zehner, Sam Watson, Ruth Flynn, Frances Pease, Irene Pease and Frank Watson; son-in-law, Andy Johnson and special cousin who she loved like a sister, Jerry Kirby.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Glenn (Eddie) and Cynthia Atchley; daughter, Susan Johnson; grandchildren and spouses, Aaron and Brooke Atchley, Jason and Monica Johnson, Kendra Atchley, Casey and Rebecca Johnson, Dusty and Andrea Johnson; great-grandchildren, Anna Atchley, Abby Atchley, Cody Johnson, Baylee Johnson, Andee Johnson, Micah Johnson, Jax Johnson and Toby Johnson to arrive in June; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday, May 5, 2012 from 12 noon to 1:45 p.m. with Funeral Services to follow at 2 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel with Rev. Rebekah Fetzer and Carol Hollar officiating. Immediately following the service we will proceed to Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton for Graveside Services.
