Elmer Lee Reagan age 83 of Townsend, passed away Tuesday night, March 11, 2003. He was of the Baptist Faith, retired from ALCOA and a member of the 25 year club and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II and a Purple Heart recipient. He was born and raised in Townsend. Preceded in death by parents, Aaron and Alice Reagan, brothers, Stanley Reagan and Ollie Reagan; sister, Hazel Tipton.
Survivors include his wonderful wife of 54 years, Mary Irene Tipton Reagan; and loving daughter, Brenda Reagan of Maryville; sister, Rose Young of Kentucky; nephews, Don Tipton, Roy Young, Lowell Yates, Lee Yates, Howard Yates, Gene Reagan, John Reagan and James Reagan; nieces, Nila Buchanan, Helen Young and Linda Reagan. Many thanks to all the workers at Buckeye Quality Home Health Care for all their services and help during his illness and to Jeann Potter for all the help she gave.
Funeral service 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2003 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Charles Johnson officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Carpenter's Campground United Methodist Church Cemetery for the interment service, with military honors provided by East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard. Family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
