Marlin Harrison Watson, "The Kid" age 65 of Gatlinburg, TN went to be with his Lord, Friday, October 11, 2013. He was a much loved husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother.
He was born on September 22, 1948 and spent his entire life in the mountains that he loved. He graduated from his beloved Gatlinburg-Pittman in June of 1966. On May 27, 1967, he married the love of his life Ann Ogle Watson. Marlin was a successful electrician and business owner. He leaves his legacy behind in many of the beautiful homes and buildings that paint the gorgeous picture of Gatlinburg. He lived to take care of others and that is evident in the many football teams he coached, his service on the Gatlinburg School Board of Education, and the time spent at First Baptist Church, Gatlinburg serving as a deacon. He was an avid fan of the University of Tennessee and spent many Friday nights standing on the sidelines showing his support of the Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders. His favorite past times were fishing, golfing, and playing with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father Frank Harrison Watson; mother Oma Mae Watson; father-in-law Hugh J. Ogle; mother-in-law Bootsie Parton Ogle; brother-in-law Todd Ogle; and sister-in-law Ersilia Watson.
Marlin is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ann Ogle Watson; his son Mark Watson and wife Melanie Watson; daughter Alison Watson Hardison and husband Brian Hardison; grandchildren Luke Watson, Maggie Hardison, and M'Lynn Hardison; brother Don Watson; sister Kay Bowles and husband Bennie Bowles; sister-in-law Cindy Day; sister-in-law Penny Ogle and husband Scott Ogle; brother-in-law Tracy Ogle; and nieces and nephews.
